This internship gave me an excellent opportunity to apply my knowledge from school to real life projects as well as learning new technologies in the telecom industry. The work was constant and challenging from the get go. My line manager was not only good at assigning me projects, but also very encouraging and caring about my progress. He was a very good listener and amazed me with his multitasking skills (I don't know how he could work with people always at his desk). He assigned me a mentor who was both supportive and patient and who helped me not only with my assignments, but also balancing my schoolwork with internship.
One of the things I love most at Ericsson is the interaction with the customer and knowing that at the end of the day you helped someone... and that someone could be millions of users downloading a song, or just one person getting a pager in a remote area without cell phone coverage. While there is cutting edge technology, there is an effort put on keeping the previous solutions up and running. From downtown Dallas to remote areas in Montana, there is always a need to communicate. And when there is a human need to communicate, Ericsson is there.
I can think of no better place to continue the life long learning process in this demanding field and I was very happy to accept a full time position at the end of this internship. Ericsson provides a friendly, professional atmosphere that is naturally conducive to excellent performance.
