The AVP 2000 Contribution Encoder is part of a new Ericsson range of high density, multi-function, multi application video processing products. It is designed for the current and future requirements of today’s broadcasters and network operators.
Space saving 1RU form factor includes up to six hot swappable option slots, eliminating wasteful downtime and allowing 24x7x365 operation. Dual power supply option gives peace of mind in mission-critical applications with no loss of density. The AVP 2000 Contribution Encoder supports a comprehensive range of video processing and input/output modules, including MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC and JPEG-2000, making it the worlds most flexible and future-proof compression solution for Contribution and Distribution. The ability to deploy MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC and JPEG-2000 from a single product can substantially reduce purchase costs and also reduce training and support costs, compared to a multi-vendor ‘mix and match’ approach.
Modular design allows service providers to upgrade functionality incrementally and on-site, effectively dimensioning their infrastructure to the exact requirements of today, while avoiding costly upgrades tomorrow. Already proven as part of Ericsson’s deployed 3DTV contribution system, its multi-channel capabilities and variety of I/O options provide a unique solution for high quality content delivery.
CE-x Series Option Modules
The CE-x Series encoding modules represent the best choice for the highest quality video contribution. Build on in-house technology, they are optimized for the video, audio and data requirements specific to this segment. All modules are based on the same future-proof, software-upgradeable platform. This enables support for features such as 10-bit, 1080p50/59.94 and 3D to be added in the future at no additional hardware expense.
CE-xA Series Option Modules
The CE-xA Series is the same as the CE-x series above, but also provides Analogue CVBS video and 2 stereo pairs of analogue audio inputs for legacy connectivity as well as conventional HD-SDI adn AES/EBU.
CE-A Series Option Modules
The CE-a Series encoder modules represent the highest density, multi-functional, video processing platform for contribution and distribution (C&D) applications. The ability to fit up to six hot swappable modules within a single AVP 2000 chassis enables broadcasters, operators and service providers to dimension their networks in the most cost-effective way for the needs of today allowing functionality to be upgraded gradually, future-proofing investment.
CE-aJ2K Series Option Modules
New JPEG 2000 option allows low latency high quality HD contribution over low cost fiber Ethernet links. This additional codec option gives the Contribution Encoder the widest choice of compression technologies on the market, allowing operators to futher enhance the overall usability of this unit and maximize productivity.
