What happens with an internet connection via LTE/4G on board of a jet plane flying 700km/h? Ericsson’s tests reveal that 4G is robust enough to handle extreme situations.

Ericsson participates in discussions on the role of modern technologies in today’s most urgent global challenges and opportunities. Together with the most prominent speakers from governments, business and society, Ericsson President and CEO Hans Vestberg addressed the question of innovative development at the major international event Open Innovations Forum in Moscow.

Building and expanding an LTE network does not usually happen overnight. It tends to be a gradual process where new cells and capacity are added in line with business and subscriber demand. Providing LTE, voice over LTE (VoLTE), and voice handover is a fundamental part of next-generation mobile networks, where voice handover to legacy systems is a key enabler while LTE coverage continues to be spotty.
