Get ready to unlock critical broadband networks for Industry 4.0

New business models are emerging for industries. From owning and operating their own networks, industries with critical communication needs are now procuring private networks and services that leverage service providers’ existing network assets and operations – without compromising required local control.

There is a global market trend to modernize existing legacy technologies in exchange for more scalable and capable solutions to fit business and mission critical communication needs. Therefore, service providers are well-positioned to grow their business by tapping new markets and leveraging their existing network assets and operations, while not steering too far from their core business.

Transforming critical broadband communications for public safety.

Ericsson’s focus is to grow with our customers and provide solutions designed to meet current and future connectivity requirements for business and mission critical use cases. Ericsson has been working with innovative service providers such as Deutsche Telekom, Telefonica, Southern Linc and other industry players to design solutions for critical broadband networks that meet the business critical and mission critical needs of industries and public safety agencies, while at the same time drawing strength from Ericsson’s telco portfolio and leveraging the latest 3GPP technologies.

The offering includes:

Critical network capabilities

Ericsson’s portfolio for critical network capabilities allows service providers and government operators to meet the tough business and mission critical communication requirements on a critical broadband network. The portfolio is 3GPP compliant and supports multiple applications and services at low cost for both network equipment and devices thanks to the global standards defined by 3GPP.

Critical broadband applications

This offering covers Ericsson Group-Radio MCPTT, which is 3GPP-compliant and allows a smooth migration path to LTE/5G, while retaining existing operational capabilities for mission-critical group communication. It also supports real-time video, media sharing and other mission critical end user applications. Ericsson Group-Radio is offered As-a-Service, which brings very low startup costs, limited need for integration and an OPEX model allowing for profitable growth almost from the start.

Flexible deployments for private networks

Ericsson’s flexible deployments for private networks range from network slicing to fully dedicated networks, which enables service providers to offer scalable, critical broadband network solutions and services for critical industries and public safety agencies.

Ericsson also offers Managed Services for private networks, with automation and AI to predict and prevent events while reducing OPEX.
