In this podcast, Mats addresses his career history in Ericsson so far, he explains his new responsibilities which include Research and Development and discusses trends in the Telco industry and what’s needed from our R&D machine to help realize the opportunities today.
For example he talks about why cloud transformation is key to 5G, how applications can be fully cloudified and automated, and what requirements Telco networks need, so that they are fully able to use Openstack. He also outlines his and Ericsson's involvement to make this happen. Mats also outlines how upcoming lauches of new services using this technology can now be turned around in hours versus months, due to a faster and more agile way of working in our R&D environment.
