I come from the small-town of Chandigarh in Northern India. l remember the day when I joined Eurolab in Aachen,Germany during the summer of 2012. I was proud of my 10 years of Ericsson experience, but that moment was short lived. During the first round of introduction I met 4 team members with more than 15-20 years of experience. And in a team of 10 we had 7 different nationalities.

My first day here at EDD started with doubts about my own experience. I was not sure how I was going to add value to the complete chain. I had colleagues with far more experience. We were all from different nationalities and were speaking different languages, had different values, different habits, different religions and even reacted differently to humor. On some occasions the feedback I received was too direct and on some occasions it was hidden due to their diversity.

Diversity makes Eurolab unique

Over time I realized that this “Diversity” is what makes Eurolab Aachen quite unique and this is what unites us as well. We are here represented by over 45 nationalities. And these differences make us take extra steps or additional effort to try and understand each other better. Diversity in work experience helped me secure my place in the chain and is valued by my colleagues. Diversity in humor, religion, food, beliefs etc. helped me broaden my prospective. I now understand my colleagues better and this has helped bringing me and them together closer. My colleagues understood my cultural differences and respected me for the same and vice versa. Diversity in my experience both personal and professional helped contribute positively to the team.

The experience we bring in terms of diversity is immense and valuable for our success and growth. Diversity is what unites and helps us realize our Eurolab and Ericsson goals.
