Swisscom: making data driven decisions utilizing analytics

As 5G starts to become a reality around the world and as the global transition takes place, the need for network performance and customer experience become even more important for operators internationally. However the question remains, how do service providers ensure that they are adding value to their customers?

Recently, we were pleased to announce that Swisscom had selected Ericsson Expert Analytics to provide such capability. As one of Switzerland’s major telecommunications providers, with 5.3 million mobile broadband subscribers, their aim is to deliver data analysis and actionable insights for these customers using video and other OTT applications on their nationwide mobile network.

Actions that matter

Ericsson Expert Analytics provides real time, near-network correlation, coupled with unique, proven and patented algorithms, models and business rules. These allow for actionable insights about customer symptoms, root causes and next best actions, thus reducing handling time, rebound rate and escalations for customer impacting events.

Insights are needed by many different stakeholders within the digitalized telco, in order to make better and faster decisions that—often automatically—trigger actions both toward the customer (offers, support) and toward the network (configuration, policy, planning) with the result that customer experience is improved while optimizing both operational and capital expense.
