Global goals need global solutions
At Ericsson, we believe that access to communication is a basic human need and that technology is a driver to improve people’s lives. We’re deeply committed to using our technology and expertise to empower communities and drive sustainable change. It was only natural, then, that we were early supporters and adopters of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and have worked hard since their launch in 2015 to integrate them into our sustainability and corporate responsibility work. Every year since, we have been eager participants at Global Goals Week.
Innovation, collaboration and commitment
“Global Goals Week calls for collective action, creativity, innovation, and commitment to deliver on the SDGs for everyone, everywhere,” UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed said recently. I couldn’t agree more. Together with representatives of governments, the private sector, civil society, media and the UN, I’m looking forward to the opportunity to cultivate new ideas, identify solutions, and explore the potential for new partnerships.
Solutions that make an impact
At Ericsson, we believe that by connecting our portfolio, our customers, and our sustainability know-how, we can affect massive positive change in society. Our research and on-the-ground solutions demonstrate that mobility, broadband and the cloud have enormous potential to boost economic development as well as delivering solutions for cities and industries to make exponential carbon reductions and help the world achieve every one of the 17 SDGs.
