Royal visit to Ericsson’s R&D site in Athlone

I am very proud to have had the honour of hosting Swedish Royalty together with ministers from both Sweden and Ireland at our R&D site in Ireland.
The Swedish royals visited our site in Athlone as part of a three-day state visit to Ireland. The King and Queen were joined by members of the Swedish Government, including Anders Ygeman, Minister for Energy and Digital Development and Sean Canney, Irish Minister of State for Rural Affairs and Natural resources.

We need to have 5G digital infrastructure in place in Europe to increase the possibility of the global 5G winners being European companies. 5G and digitalization must be viewed as a critical part of European national infrastructures.
Europe needs to get back in race when it comes to competitive technology, and fast. Innovators, business and citizens deserve this. My strong belief is that we will be able to take digitalization one step further if we all cooperate from the industry, society and organizations. Let’s win this race together!
Thank you.
