Get ready to experience the best of 5G at GITEX 2019
The Middle East and Africa region is no stranger to inspiring innovations in technology – it embraces digital advancement, and technology for good. We are starting to see commercial 5G networks going live in the region. Previous generations of mobile technology were focused on consumer and personal communications but now 5G will serve consumers and businesses alike and take the Internet of Things (IoT) to the next level.
By 2024, volumes of mobile data traffic are expected to increase by a factor of five, and 25 percent of that traffic will be carried by 5G networks. Envisioning that 5G will be the era of IoT, we are first with commercial live networks in four continents. We have publicly announced commercial 5G deals with 24 service providers to date, four of them are from the Middle East.
5G is set to revolutionize how we use and adopt technology and will have a huge impact on businesses and societies in the region. It will bring new opportunities for people, businesses and societies, providing not just higher bandwidth, but also greater capacity, security and more productivity.
Reaching the key technological milestone of deploying 5G networks has been a joint effort - a journey and a collaboration between us and some of the world-leading telecom partners and key stakeholders. Together we have managed to develop 5G technology based on real business needs. And there is no better time to take this technology to the masses. We are happy to bring Ericsson’s 5G breakthrough technologies to GITEX Technology Week 2019 in Dubai.
Under the theme Experience 5G, Ericsson experts will use GITEX 2019 to inspire consumers and enterprise with 5G, its potential and the possibilities it will bring to us as individuals and enterprises.
