Gemma Vall Llosera
Head of SSA Automation & AI Innovation and Incubation within BMAS GIT
Dr. Gemma Vall Llosera is a technology specialist and Head of SSA Automation & AI Innovation and Incubation within BMAS GIT. Her current interest targets the scouting of new technologies that are of interest for Ericsson’s digitalization journey. She is part of the Technical Program Committee for optics and photonics conferences, committee member of several PhD thesis defences, lecturer on fibre optics at Lund University, supervisor of various master students and is also a member of the PhotonicSweden Board of Directors.
Gemma joined Ericsson in 2010, and has carried out research in optical x-haul networks, radio-over-fibre, and has been a technology advisor in Ericsson’s own incubator, now part of Ericsson ONE. From 2008-2010 she worked with error fingerprinting of xDSL networks in the Electrical and Information Technology group at Lund University. Gemma received her Diploma in Optics from the Politechnics University of Catalonia (UPC), Spain, in 1998 and her PhD in Physics from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden in 2008. She received a VINNMER fellowship and a Marie Curie grant for her PhD studies. Gemma is the author of 15 patents and has published around 40 peer-reviewed contributions.
