I am a U.S. citizen who was born in the Philippines. My family and I migrated to the United States where we lived in Hawaii and then moved to California.
My favorite Filipino dish is the sweet and savory noodle dish mixed with meat and vegetables called pancit. My mom makes the best pancit.
Growing up in Silicon Valley, I was not only exposed to technology, but also to many diverse cultures. I mostly had friends who were like me, migrating to the United States from places like Mexico, Vietnam, Korea and El Salvador. My husband is Mexican and our children are Filipino-Mexican-Americans.
Working for a global company and being in a global role, I have discovered fascinating places by the dialogue I have with colleagues, customers and external partners. My favorite cultural experience at Ericsson was joining an initiative called TechWomen, where we empower the next generation of women leaders in STEM from Africa, Central and South Asia, and the Middle East. I mentored an Emerging Leader from Algeria. Today, I still keep in contact with my Algerian friend thanks to our connected world.
