University of British Columbia, Underwater Food Storage Tank

New methods of food storage with zero negative environmental impact.

Underwater Food Storage Tank

After observing their grandmother’s method of storing fruit and veg in bags dipped in cold water, these students from Vancouver began looking into how ancient civilisations used to preserve food. They discovered various civilisations from all over the world would store their food under land in wet soil.

Their vision is to use creativity and technology, along with nature to help solve a global food crisis. They propose not only a product, but a new way of thinking and living which led them to create ‘The Underwater Food Storage Tank’ - a globally unified solution that works with the environment, not against it.
