Digitizing Europe

Ericsson has a strong installed base in Europe, partly as a result of the modernization projects of European networks in 2011–2013, which was a prerequisite for the transformation. In 2014, business in Europe was driven by investments in network quality and capacity combined with managed services.

Europe is a developed market in which consumers expect the latest innovations and the fastest delivery.

What’s it like to work in TV?

We recently held an event called Open Industry at Ericsson TV. We gave 70 students from the local area the chance to spend time working alongside EDT (Engineering Development Trust). We used our Experience Center to provide them with an insight into what it’s like to be one of our broadcasters. It was a great opportunity for them to learn more and a great way for us to show what an exciting, interesting and relevant career Engineering could be for them.

Ericsson Garage Tour

Ericsson employees had the opportunity to take a closer look at our innovative Ericsson Garage projects via a guided tour.

The ability to develop an idea from opportunity into a thriving commercial offering is vital for technology companies to stay competitive in today’s market. The Ericsson Garage acts as an incubator for innovations in areas adjacent to current research and business. Ideas are initiated by individual researchers or managers, and developed under a lean startup methodology.

The Ericsson Garage is an excellent resource, and it was great to be able give more of our employees closer look!

Career opportunities at Ericsson Tunisia

Ericsson has had a continuous presence in Tunisia since 1964. We now have more than 100 employees and we’re continuing to grow. We’ve launched a new Training Academy in Tunis and we’re opening a new Near Shore Center – focusing on R&D – to support innovation across the Maghreb and Mediterranean regions. Near Shore Center Tunisia will provide the connection between global innovation and local delivery, supporting effective customer engagement throughout the region. Initially, we will focus on Consulting, Strategy and Integration, helping to establish and implement frameworks for project assessment, solution and delivery. By adopting a consistent approach, we will also create opportunities for people in the Near Shore Center to work on wider global projects in the future.

It’s an exciting time to join us. Find out more about career opportunities in Ericsson Tunisia and in R&D here.

CloudLab in Italy

Ericsson has launched a new Cloud Lab in Rome, Italy, enabling faster innovation and co-creation with leading telecoms operators. The lab is an open and multi-vendor environment, allowing operators to experiment and learn how cloud infrastructure can be designed and integrated into existing environments. Telecom operators and Ericsson can jointly develop concepts and execute trials for new-use cases and cloud services, and operators can then access the Cloud Lab virtually from any of their premises worldwide. “This new lab is an example of Ericsson's passion for driving innovations in Italy,” says Nunzio Mirtillo, Head of Region Mediterranean, Ericsson.

It has come to our attention that emails and job adverts have been created and circulated by unknown individuals for the purpose of attempting to defraud candidates.

Potential candidates should be wary of approaches that appear to be offering a job for which they have not applied, especially if personal details or money must be sent in order to proceed with the recruitment. Neither Ericsson nor any commissioned third parties recruit in this manner. Such approaches are almost certainly fraudulent attempts to gain details of identity for illegal use.

Ericsson is taking all necessary steps to investigate this matter further.
