enigma

Enigma seeks to reduce weevil infestations in rice crop storage with a device than can detect the presence of weevils and the severity of an infestation, then spray pesticides accordingly.

3rd place: Foodgrid

This year’s theme: The Future of Food

Here at Ericsson, we’re relentlessly dedicated to using the power of innovation to make our world a better place. We also strongly support the UN’s Sustainable Development goals of Zero Hunger and Responsible Consumption and Production. That’s why we’re proud that over 900 teams entered the 2017 Ericsson Innovation Awards.

Our theme for 2017 was one that affects everyone on the planet. By 2050, the global population is expected to reach 9.6 billion. Ensuring that our food production and consumption is both sufficient and sustainable will be a major challenge. But at Ericsson, we've seen firsthand how ICT innovation can make the world a better place.

How can we make the way food is produced and consumed more sustainable? Can we ensure food and nutrition for all people? How can we use technology to shape the future of food? And, most importantly, can our ideas help feed the world?

It has come to our attention that emails and job adverts have been created and circulated by unknown individuals for the purpose of attempting to defraud candidates.

Potential candidates should be wary of approaches that appear to be offering a job for which they have not applied, especially if personal details or money must be sent in order to proceed with the recruitment. Neither Ericsson nor any commissioned third parties recruit in this manner. Such approaches are almost certainly fraudulent attempts to gain details of identity for illegal use.

Ericsson is taking all necessary steps to investigate this matter further.
