Demo descriptions

Fixed Wireless Access Services - Visualizing 5G FWA network design & end user experience

This proof point will focus on two aspects of FWA:

  1. Interactive walkthrough and visualization of a 5G FWA network
  2. Identifying optimal CPE type and placement on building structures and the predicted end user experience

Deploying CBRS on strand and at other sites

Leveraging best practices to deploy a high performance, high capacity CBRS network on Strand for data offload and other applications.

Private LTE

LTE can be deployed on a variety of spectrum with a flexible range of bandwidths, allowing private networks to be flexibly deployed depending on customized requirements. LTE provides a continuous evolving ecosystem with worldwide operators, network infrastructure vendors, chipset vendors and service vendors, in addition to a rich LTE roadmap to 5G, including new 5G capabilities such as the new 5G new radio (NR) and mission-critical services with ultra-reliable and ultra-low latency communications.

5GC / 5G EPC Core

Learn the differences between 4G and 5G Core as well as the deployment options. See how a 4G Core deployment can be software upgraded to 5G EPC and 5GC, taking the quickest and most cost-effective path to 5G NR.

One core network for all accesses and services: The Ericsson Cloud Core solution for 5G allow you to address all mobile access technologies as well as fixed wireless access (FWA) in one core system with common control and user plane applications.

System of systems

Demonstrates the value of an "IoT system of systems" that enables cross-platform automation and device data visualization. This demo visualizes the capabilities of the system of systems for office parks and campuses, through the eyes of a property manager who manages all the smart systems (Buildings, Parking, Shuttles, Energy, Environment, Facilities and Security) to provide tenants with a safe, healthy, efficient and eco-friendly workplace.

Smart Building - NB IOT

Showcases Smart Building solutions powered by live NB-IoT sensors. NB-IoT devices enable companies to simply and cost-effectively make their buildings smart without having to manage complex installations, integrations and troubleshooting associated with other technologies.

Dynamic Orchestration (Enterprise)

Dynamic Orchestration is a pre-integrated solution that enables Service Providers to launch services that leverage both physical and virtual network functions, enabling the creation, provisioning and assurance of services in an automated way. The solution components include orchestration, onboarding, inventory, analytics, assurance and network management. Use cases include mobile core virtualization (vEPC, vIMS), virtual Enterprise services (vCPE, SD-WAN) and network slicing. The main benefits are faster time to customer and OPEX reduction, zero touch network by enabling self-service provisioning and closed-loop automation and end-to-end services across multiple domains.

Communications Services Digital Assistant

Enable messaging on Google Home and Alexa devices, complementary to multi-number and multi-devices capabilities. No software installation is required on the Digital Assistants:

  • Ericsson software enabling the telephony capability is an add-on to the IMS Core offering
  • MDSP acts as a bridge between the IMS core and the Digital Assistant

Use cases include:

  • Call forked to digital assistant and smartphone with same phone number
  • Call initiated from digital assistant and carried out by smart phone

Business Case

  • Operators can charge for an additional device and increased traffic in the network

Service Enablement (Digital Services: OSS/BSS)

  • Showcasing Ericsson end-to-end solution between connectivity and applications, service enablement provides the means to free developers from needing low level data structure information, for the more traditional OSS and BSS APIs and also for the emerging Massive IoT APIs. Through enabling device security and smooth network onboarding of devices the subscriber experience can be enhanced and new sorts of devices can be enabled in the network
  • There is a real opportunity for operators to use their OSS/BSS to extend their reach far beyond traditional service offerings. Service enablement supports the flexibility, agility and responsiveness needed to innovate and drive operator differentiation by combining Order Care, Catalog Manager, Inventory, Network Virtualization and Converged Service Studio all on one seamless platform

Business Bar

  • 5G business potential (segmentation/clusters)
  • FWA business case
  • Manage Services (TBD Luiz)

Beyond Reality (Innovation Zone)

Ericsson's Mixed Reality Beyond demonstration shows how effectively controlling the edge network, using computer vision and offloading processing to the edge, can enable operators to expand further into consumer and enterprise markets to allow for new AR/VR experiences that provide high levels of interactivity and immersion for consumers. The demonstration conveys the network concepts that underpin the mixed reality experience, as well as how users can engage with multiple interactive mixed reality points throughout a physical space.

  • The AR/VR Demo will be in the Tech Innovation Area @ SCTE
  • Jack Morton will install
  • Arius Ruiz will run the demo
