Head of Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility, Ericsson North America

Bhushan Joshi is Head of Sustainability & Corporate Responsibility for Ericsson North America. As Ericsson’s lead in the drive for sustainability, Bhushan advocates for the role of the Information Communications Technology sector in enabling other industries to take exponential climate action. He is also focused on developing strategies to help telecom service providers in the United States and Canada achieve their energy and sustainability goals with the introduction of 5G.

Bhushan Joshi has more than 15 years of professional experience in corporate sustainability, business development, energy management, renewables, sustainability reporting, sustainability strategy development and program management. He is an experienced in-demand public speaker on the topics of sustainability and corporate responsibility, presenting at prestigious events including Techonomy, the Nordic Innovation Summit, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, ATIS Next G Alliance and Assembly Magazine.

Bhushan Joshi has an MBA in Sustainable Business Practices from Duquesne University and holds undergraduate engineering degrees from both Ferris State University in Michigan and Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University in India

Bhushan also serves as the chair of the Next G Alliance Green G working group, the mission of this group is to position North America as the global leader in environmental sustainability by creating a sustainable 6G ecosystem

Head of E2E 5G Systems

 

Erin Liao is the VP and Head of End-to-End 5G Systems of Ericsson North America with over 20 years of telecom product development and solution experience. She is responsible for bringing together the complete network solutions integrated with the ecosystem and pushing for the advancement of mobile communication technologies. Erin is most passionate about the transformational potential of 5G and looking forward to its powerful impacts to the society.

Erin grew up in Taiwan, holds a MSEE degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and is currently based in Texas in the US.

Paul Challoner

Paul Challoner

Chief Technology Officer, Global Customer Unit AT&T, Ericsson North America 

Paul Challoner, Chief Technology Officer, Global Customer Unit AT&T, Ericsson North America, based in Plano, Texas is responsible for radio products including 4G, 5G, IoT & Open RAN. Prior to his current role, Challoner worked as Head of Product Line Wi-Fi and Head of Ericsson’s CDMA Product Line.

Challoner currently serves as Vice Chair, Board of Directors of the CBRS Alliance, Large Company representative, for the Board of the Wireless Innovation Forum and on the Board of Governors for 5G Americas. He joined Ericsson in 2010 from Nortel where he held executive roles leading the GSM product line, Intelligent Networks and Broadband Wireless businesses. He has global experience working in the US, Canada, France, India and the UK. With 25 years in the telecom industry he possesses extensive industry experience and has innovated bringing numerous radio products to market specializing in the field of wireless communication.

Challoner holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Brunel University, London, UK.

Sibel Tombaz

Sibel Tombaz

Head of Product Line 5G Radio Access Network

Dr. Sibel Tombaz is Head of Product Line 5G Radio Access Network at Ericsson, based in Stockholm, Sweden. She is responsible for the Profit and Loss (P&L) and life cycle of Ericsson’s global 5G RAN product.

She leads her team in bringing innovative software solutions needed to successfully develop and deploy best performing 5G networks to meet the needs of both enterprise and consumer markets. These technologies continue to transform every sector and create positive change benefiting not only customers but society in general.

Tombaz joined Ericsson in 2014 and held positions in research and product management. She worked on 5G concept development, 5G use cases and energy performance of radio access networks. She also initiated and introduced award-winning Ericsson Spectrum Sharing solution which allows operators to transition from 4G to 5G utilizing the same spectrum band – which has never been done until now.

Tombaz holds a Ph.D. degree in communication systems from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
