5G deployments are well underway both in the US and around the globe. But we are still in the very early stages of this transformation. Big changes lie ahead in further virtualization of the network, new opportunities in industries and enterprise, new spectrum, and new business models.

Listen to Ericsson experts on two panel discussions

  • Virtualization the RAN – Now You See It, Now You Don’t
    2:00 pm – 2:45 pm
Many parts of the mobile network have been virtualized but the RAN is the most difficult due to the scope and complexity.  This panel will look at the current work ongoing to virtualize the RAN, the role of cloud native in this evolution and the potential for greenfield networks
Speaker: Paul Challoner, VP Network Product Solutions, Ericsson North America
  • 5G in the Enterprise
    4:45 pm – 5:30 pm
5G has profound implications for enterprises, both in terms of the way they operate and the products they are able to offer to their clients.  Many aspects of 5G from network slicing, low latency, ultra high broadband, and IoT, directly impact and benefit the enterprise.  But what do enterprises need?  Who do they want to buy 5G from?  What is the role for private 5G and indoor 5G networks?  And how will the 5G enterprise opportunity develop?
Speaker: Greg Rogers, Vice President and Head of Networks Business Development, Ericsson North America
