Gunnar Mildh, Expert in the area of Radio Network Architecture at Ericsson Research describes how WiFi and Cellular integration will improve the end user experience.

Operators are starting to deploy high quality public Wi-Fi networks (Carrier Wi-Fi) to complement their cellular broadband networks in order to improve the end user experience and the overall system capacity. Carrier Wi-Fi network are typically deployed in areas with high capacity needs such as train stations, arenas etc.

In order to succeed with improving the performance it is important that Wi-Fi and Cellular technologies work well together. This Tech Talk discusses how Wi-Fi and Cellular integration is addressing the challenges in this area, providing solutions for handling user mobility, balancing load and performing intelligent access selection.
