2degrees and Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) today announced a project to replace large parts of 2degrees’ existing microwave network infrastructure with state-of-the-art Ericsson MINI-LINK products.

Vonage, part of Ericsson, and Australian communications service provider, Telstra, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to drive network Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) digitalization opportunities in Australia’s enterprise sector.

• The companies have agreed a multi-year contract extension to realize O₂ Telefónica’s network of the future vision.
• The partnership, which started in 2020, includes Ericsson's cloud-native dual-mode 5G Core and cloud-based infrastructure solutions which now serve O₂ Telefónica’s 45 million mobile subscribers in Germany.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT, RWTH Aachen University and Ericsson GmbH have successfully expanded the 5G-Industry Campus Europe in Aachen with a Cloud RAN infrastructure. Cloud RAN enables the virtualization of the Radio Access Network (RAN) and creates a basis for the use of 5G functionalities and industrial applications on shared server hardware. This simplifies the introduction of new technologies and production systems within an efficient and scalable production infrastructure in companies. 

• Ericsson, Three Sweden, and media production company Mobilelinks enabled 5G live media broadcasting from the lead car at the 2024 Stockholm Marathon on June 1^st.
• Broadcast marks the first deployment of network slicing in Sweden in a commercial network and was delivered via a dedicated slice of Three’s 5G standalone network.
