The NIx Traffic Steering Manager rApp looks for cells with PRB or PDCCH congestion in 4G and 5G networks. It then suggests modifications to facilitate and correct load balancing through the absorption of traffic by other carriers or neighbours available.
Enhanced network performance due to correct load balancing
The NIx Traffic Steering Manager rApp analyses different KPIs from cells, their co-sectors and neighbours, and proposes different automatic solutions, also called actions, to reconfigure parameters from different managed objects. This avoids the congestion problems and improves network performance and the overall quality of experience of the end user. Actions include power analysis, inter-frequency mobility analysis or intra-frequency mobility analysis. The rApp can operate in closed loop, so changes can be applied to the network instantly.
Real time KPI analysis
The NIx Traffic Steering Manager rApp performs an automatic historic analysis of different KPIs to determine whether cells are PRB/PDCCH congested or not based on different thresholds. In this way real data, rather than approximations, will be used to determine the congestion of the cells.
Traceability of changes
The NIx Traffic Steering Manager rApp allows the user to recover the outputs of the rApp for any execution performed before. The rApp can also return the parameters to their baseline value or to their original value before the rApp’s execution in a determined time interval.
