Ericsson joins the White House Pledge to America’s Workers program

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) today announced its commitment to invest in the advancement of its current and future workforce by joining the White House Pledge to America’s Workers program. With the signing of this pledge, Ericsson commits to providing individuals with opportunities to develop skills that will help them succeed, not just in their current role, but throughout their careers.

Over the next five years, Ericsson will create 50,000 enhanced career opportunities for individuals in the U.S. workforce. Opportunities will include increased apprenticeships, work-based learning programs, continuing education, on-the-job training and reskilling.

Niklas Heuveldop, President and Head of Ericsson North America, says, “At Ericsson, we believe that continuous learning is essential to remaining competitive in the marketplace.  We are investing in our future by providing educational training for the U.S. workforce, which will also open new opportunities for individuals throughout their careers. A robust learning agenda has always been part of Ericsson’s growth strategy, and we are honored to help drive this critical initiative with the White House.”

Ericsson is the most recent of more than 430 companies who have joined the White House Pledge to America’s Workers, totaling nearly 16 million enhanced career and training opportunities. The Pledge was launched by President Donald Trump in July 2018 and has been spearheaded by Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump. The mission was to call upon employers large and small to join this initiative to create more American jobs, strengthen our economy and restore hopeful futures to countless families.

Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump says, “We are delighted to welcome Ericsson as the newest member of the growing family within the Pledge to America’s Workers! As of today, over 430 companies have committed to reskill and upskill nearly 16 million American workers and maintain the competitiveness of the U.S. workforce. 50,000 additional workers will benefit from today’s pledge and we could not be more excited to see these individuals thrive!”
