Area Demo
The demo area will present a selection of Ericsson's end-to-end portfolio, including 5G, 4G, IoT, OSS / BSS, virtualization. We will also have a space dedicated to innovation and R & D, with several partners.
Consumer & Enterprise App

VR Gaming
Two gamers compete in VR games connected over Network Radio low latency. The low latency, high throughput characteristics of 5G provide an excellent experience in cloud based, real-time, multi-player, immersive gaming.

Connected music
This demo will show how different musicians positioned in different placeswill play in real time thanks to 5G. By modifying the latency provided by the MusiConnect interface it will be possible to understand how the latter will impact performance.

Immersive conference
Thanks to 5G it will be possible to deliver an immersive experience to allow to different users places in different locations, to collaborate and work together via PC Platform and VR glasses.

Industrial automation
This demo will show an intelligent robotic system capable of performing various activities, including assembly, management and packaging, using 5G technology for connectivity and coordination between robot / sensor and remote controller in the cloud.
5G network technologies

Ericsson Radio System for smart robots
Ericsson Radio System provides higher capacity and lower latency connection leveraging on the complete Ericsson Transport portfolio that includes Fronthaul and Mobile Backhaul equipment. This enables the full mobility to last generation of humanoid robots to physically interact with the environment and with people.

Evolved photonic integration in Silicon
Silicon Photonics is emerging to innovate ICT networks with two main challenges: miniaturizing the optical medium to transmit and exchange data at very high speeds demonstrated by 3D silicon photonic chip, and intrinsically optimizing overall energy consumption demonstrated by First Graphene photonic chip with no thermal control.

5G Optical Devices
5G high capacity networks require to expand the use of optical technologies up to the radio access, while balancing performances vs Total Cost of Ownership, size and power consumption. New front edge technologies are exploited to implement their usage inside the Ericsson Radio System.

Dynamic Licensing for IoT
License Gateway becomes dynamic and integrates the more recent SW Cloud technologies like blockchain and microservices. Real time licenses distribution can be applied to new IoT services developed on the Ericsson IoT Accelerator Platform. This use case shows examples of application of smart contracts for electrical car refueling.

Lawful Interception applied to IoT
Ericsson Lawful Interception enlarges its scope including new IoT applications and offers enriched regulatory monitoring features. The use case demonstrates the acquisition of audio/video information related to people under surveillance via a Smart Glasses device integrated in the Ericsson IoT Accelerator Platform.

Radio spectrum management
Radio spectrum is even more a valuable asset and an effectively management can require dedicated equipment. Ericsson Network Manager is integrating the Spectrum Analyzer function, leveraging on network resources. This increases the network efficiency and troubleshooting capability reducing site local visit and associated cost of operation.

Artificial Intelligence for Network Analysis
Network management can benefit of new Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning capabilities to predict events, to plan preventive maintenance, to speed up fails resolution. Two use cases will demonstrate the prediction of optical modules faults avoiding unscheduled tower climbs, and the automatic troubleshooting of network anomalies in service nodes.

Network Management for secure robotics
Network Management enables an effective user control and prevents any unauthorized access being this essential also for new services related to the usage of Medical Robotics in a domestic environment. Security and remote management are needed to protect the robots and the patient data.
100 years in Italy
That of Ericsson in Italy is a story of innovations, primates and transformations. A Swedish company with an Italian heart. In 100 years of presence in Italy, Ericsson has contributed to the widespread dissemination of network infrastructures, first fixed and now mobile. From the production of telephone materials and line commutators to 5G networks and research on graphene, the history of Ericsson in Italy is the symbol of the evolution of telecommunications in the world.
