International Women’s Day - 2018
Ericsson will be celebrating International Women's Day 2018 in many ways under the umbrella of the United Nation's global campaign #PressForProgress during March 7-23.
The Living Library
For the second year, and upon demand, we are once again launching the Living Library, where we offer our employees a global platform for connections and relationship-building. In a Living Library, books are people and reading is a conversation. Just as in an ordinary library, visitors may browse for books (i.e. interesting people to connect with) and select one or several books that appeal to them, make a reservation to check out that book for a limited time (i.e. sign up for a meeting with the individual), read it (listen/talk/discuss/be inspired), and return it.
The Living Library gives us the chance to reach beyond the surface to get to know someone we have never met before, share experiences, challenges and passions to build understanding, expand our networks, gain insights and even challenge prejudice.
On the journey toward gender equality we support the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We are a leading advocate for the role of ICT in demonstrating the positive impacts that technology can have on society.
Education of women and girls is our focus of Connect to Learn program. We are improving the quality and access to secondary education. Today, 70,000 students in 22 countries benefit from the program.

140 years of empowering women at Ericsson
At Ericsson – in every role, in every country – women are helping to transform the future of mobile, technology and communication. In honor of International Women’s Day, we are paying tribute to women everywhere working with us to empower people, business and society. Ericsson has been operating for 140 years – 140 years in which women have contributed to the company we are today.
Panel discussion with our executive women
In 2013 Ericsson participated in Battle of the Numbers initiative together with nine other large international companies, each contributing with teams of ten women to discuss, brainstorm, share best practice in order to find ways to improve the number of women in leadership. Members from the team will together with women from our executive team hold a discussion inviting our entire global team to participate - and together "PressForProgress".
