Ericsson Media Resource Function

The Ericsson Media Resource Function (vMRF) is a product for operators that want to go for Network Functions Virtualization. It provides media services, like announcements, tones and conferencing, for VoLTE, WiFi calling and fixed VoIP solutions.

The vMRF aims at offering lower OPEX and CAPEX than the native MRF in the MRS or M-MGw products. The vMRF is a carrier-class product running on Ericsson or 3rd party X86 HW in multiple cloud environments.

The Ericsson Media Resource Function (vMRF) is a product for operators that want to go for Network Functions Virtualization. It provides media services, such as announcements, tones and conferencing, for VoLTE, WiFi calling and fixed VoIP solutions.

The vMRF is a SW product that can be deployed on basically any X86 HW in multiple cloud environments, such as OpenStack, VMware and the Ericsson Cloud Execution Environment (CEE). The vMRF can also be delivered as a pre-packaged product including both SW and BSP 8100 HW. The vMRF is also certified to run on the HDS 8000.
