Ericsson Massive IoT

Ericsson Massive IoT solution is to address the emerging Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) market, meeting key requirement for low cost devices, extended coverage, and long battery life. The solution enables cellular networks to support applications such as Smart Cities, Smart Metering, Smart Agriculture, Logistics and Transportation, etc.

The solution is based on new 3GPP standard technologies including NB-IoT, Cat-M1 and EC-GSM-IoT. We bring together broad range of offerings to help operators and other players create the best solution.

  • Ericsson Massive IoT RAN products are new SW features on existing LTE and GSM network, enabling 15-20 dB extended coverage as compared to today’s baselines GSM and LTE, +10 years battery life and a low device cost.
  • IoT core network portfolio including Evolved Packet Core or Virtual Evolved Packet Core and Unified Data Management enables separation of resources for MBB and IoT as well as the flexibility and scalability needed for the predicted growth of IoT.
  • Ericsson provides also the IoT platform solution or so called IoT Accelerator and Professional Services in combination of a wide range of innovative industry-specific solutions.
