Ericsson offers continuous software updates
PCs, tablets and phones are all updated regularly - why should telecom nodes be any different? This realization has transformed the way we deliver software updates to network operators.
Before now, continuous delivery and deployment of software releases has not been seen in a telecom environment, or on such a large scale. Customers of Ericsson Continuous Software Delivery and Deployment are now able to get Packet Core software updates monthly, rather than having to wait six or even 12 months. Also, new software can be live in an operator’s network within as little as two days of general availability – a time reduction of up to nine weeks!

Ericsson and Telkomcel launch 4G services
We’ve recently expanded the broadband capabilities of Telkomcel, a mobile telecom company based in Timor Leste, with the launch of Telkomcel’s 4G services.
“This investment... reflects our commitment to providing the mobile broadband community in Timor Leste with the highest quality of service available, delivered via cutting edge infrastructure and technology to ensure a superior mobile experience for our customers.”
- Dedi Suherman, CEO of Telkomcel
Live trials of the 4G network were successfully carried out earlier this month, and services have been launched as part of the 5th anniversary of Telkomcel’s operations in Timor Leste. This is a major milestone in Telkomcel’s business in Asia, as it marks the first 4G implementation using virtual Evolved Packet Core (vEPC) and the Ericsson Radio System software release, LTE RAN 17A. The Ericsson LTE RAN 17A release delivers many LTE technology enhancements to increase network speed, capacity and overall network performance, further enhancing the mobile broadband experience for subscribers.

Important notice: fraudulent job offers
It has come to our attention that emails and job adverts have been created and circulated by unknown individuals for the purpose of attempting to defraud candidates.
Potential candidates should be wary of approaches that appear to be offering a job for which they have not applied, especially if personal details or money must be sent in order to proceed with the recruitment. Neither Ericsson nor any commissioned third parties recruit in this manner. Such approaches are almost certainly fraudulent attempts to gain details of identity for illegal use.
Ericsson is taking all necessary steps to investigate this matter further.
