Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence at Ericsson

The complexity of today's telecommunication systems is extensive and will accelerate even further the coming years with the digitalization ongoing in society's around the globe. AI and ML are vital technologies for Ericsson to handle this complexity. In 5G, the number of functionality dimensions has increased significantly including number of data points, e.g. the number of parameters per network node is around 4500 per site. Therefore, the complexity of running a 5G network, including additional data points in IoT, makes it virtually impossible for a human brain to comprehend and find an optimized solution for.

Why do you like working at Ericsson?

It's so great to see all the interesting things we do within AI and how it can make an impact on both clients and consumers. Being a developer is so inspiring. Having the possibility to build the strategy of how our networks can be automated and self managed, allowing for better user experience, is challenging, but also rewarding. That means less drop calls especially in congested and dynamic networks. Overall, less frustration for the consumer.

What do you work with?

I'm currently working with building the AI community around Ericsson, consolidating the technology and gathering requirements for data scientists and ML engineers in regards to what they want from their toolboxes, as well as what the requirements to link analysis with the production environment are This project has been an amazing achievement for me personally since it also allowed me to perform real AI work and face the challenges of applying such an ambition to a real environment.

It has come to our attention that emails and job adverts have been created and circulated by unknown individuals for the purpose of attempting to defraud candidates.

Potential candidates should be wary of approaches that appear to be offering a job for which they have not applied, especially if personal details or money must be sent in order to proceed with the recruitment. Neither Ericsson nor any commissioned third parties recruit in this manner. Such approaches are almost certainly fraudulent attempts to gain details of identity for illegal use.
