An internship is an experience that genuinely benefits your longer-term career prospects. The work we do to build The Networked Society is not purely theoretical or abstract. We make a difference to everyday life in cities, societies and remote communities all around the world. That’s inspiring.
An Ericsson Internship Experience
Simon Said, an Ericsson Intern in Sweden, has had a great experience with us – in other words, a typical Ericsson internship! In this video blog, Simon shares some of his experiences, from his supportive supervisor who advised him to ‘forget you’re an intern,’ to Ericsson’s culture of curiosity and learning, to getting to work on important, real-world projects.
As an intern at Ericsson, you’ll learn so much. You’ll learn from some of the brightest minds in our industry – in a supportive, open environment where you can ask anyone, anything, anywhere around the world. You will work on challenging projects and develop your skills in the areas you’re most passionate about. You’ll learn a lot from us and you’ll learn a lot about yourself too. About your strengths, your interests and the areas to develop as your look forward to your future career.
- Internship applicants must meet student requirements to apply
- We recruit locally and have opportunities all over the world
- It’s real work with real responsibilities
- We’ll also give you structured training to build your business skills from the word ‘go'
We recruit interns from diverse backgrounds, from various areas of study and into every area of our business, including: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Management, Information Systems, Business, Finance/Accounting, Marketing and Human Resource Management. To start, we are looking for people who are:
- Bright and articulate
- Enthusiastic and ready to learn
- Passionate about technology and its applications
Being an Ericsson intern is about seeing what life at Ericsson is really like, because we’re a diverse community of like-minded people. Around the world, we have many ways to help our Interns get to know us, get to know each other and network informally for the future. In the USA, for example, we hold a ‘Big Event’ for our interns every semester. As the photos show, it’s a great way for interns to celebrate their time at Ericsson.
Meet Kim Nguyen, Ericsson intern
"I was fortunate to receive an Ericsson grant to attend the IEEE WIE ILC. The event was amazing! I got to meet so many great people and get advice for my personal and professional development. Being with people who have accomplished great things was phenomenal. They offered me their stories and how they dealt with these situations, it’s really nice to hear about others’ experiences.
I also got to learn about some technologies that are being worked on. It’s so exciting to be in an environment where technologies like these are being invented and created every day – I definitely feel empowered and inspired! I was not exposed to the growth of technologies, their possibilities, and how they are integrated to our lives when I was younger, and seeing them now inspires me to change that for younger individuals."
- Kim Nguyen, Ericsson intern

Important notice: fraudulent job offers
It has come to our attention that emails and job adverts have been created and circulated by unknown individuals for the purpose of attempting to defraud candidates.
Potential candidates should be wary of approaches that appear to be offering a job for which they have not applied, especially if personal details or money must be sent in order to proceed with the recruitment. Neither Ericsson nor any commissioned third parties recruit in this manner. Such approaches are almost certainly fraudulent attempts to gain details of identity for illegal use.
Ericsson is taking all necessary steps to investigate this matter further.
