Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility

Ericsson and ShareTheMeal
A world with zero hunger by 2030 is possible, and we’re committed to doing out part. That’s why Ericsson is joining the World Food Programme’s ShareTheMeal campaign. Fighting hunger and malnutrition is one of the greatest challenges of our time, and as supporters of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we at Ericsson are doing everything we can to help achieve each and every one of these goals.
Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger
This goal is a pledge to end hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture – and the ShareTheMeal campaign can help eliminate hunger and reduce world famine.

“Innovating Technology for Good is our company purpose, and we know that ICT can play an instrumental role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Joining the ShareTheMeal campaign reinforces our long-standing partnership with the WFP, along with other initiatives such as Ericsson Response that provides critical support during emergency relief operations by connecting WFP to power its operations and support humanitarian organizations. I hope everyone downloads the ShareTheMeal app and shares a meal. It’s easy to do and the effects are very far-reaching.”
How you can help
Download the WFP’s ShareTheMeal app for either iOS or Android. Once you have downloaded the app, search for #TeamEricsson using the ‘Community’ function and join the Ericsson team! You can contribute by sharing one meal or more at as little as USD 0.50 per meal.

- ShareTheMeal is an initiative of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), which is the leading humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. Please check the website of the organization for more info: www.wfp.org
- ShareTheMeal ensures that donations reach children in need as efficiently and effectively as possible.
- ShareTheMeal focuses as much as possible on the countries where there is a great need in terms of funding gaps for the operations involved, or of urgency. For example, one recipient of ShareTheMeal resources is Yemen, since there is a looming famine affecting many children in the country.

Ericsson is proud of the hundreds of employees who come together through Ericsson Response to help with disaster relief efforts. Most volunteers offer technical and engineering expertise, such as establishing and repairing communications infrastructure, to help areas start to re-build after devastation.
Connect to Learn
Now launched in 21 countries, our Connect to Learn program gives students in less developed countries the opportunity to learn through a cloud-based ICT solution.
Since Ericsson joined the Millennium Villages Project in 2007, over 500,000 people in 12 countries in sub-Saharan Africa are benefiting from connectivity.

It has come to our attention that emails and job adverts have been created and circulated by unknown individuals for the purpose of attempting to defraud candidates.
