SDS 4.0 Feature Delivery 2 (FD2) is now available
Ericsson’s Service Development Studio (SDS) is the only fully comprehensive tool for development and end-to-end testing of both the client and server side of new convergent all-IP (IMS) applications. SDS contains a standards based IMS network simulator with communication services emulators.

SDS runs on a PC, is based on the Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (IDE), uses common practices and de-facto standards in the Java community and provides high-level API's to hide the network and terminal device complexity from the designer.

The FD2 release integrates and supports the Open Source Glassfish/SailFin JavaEE/SIP server and enhances support for peer-to-peer VoIP communication and WLAN access.

Below is a list of the major components and functions of SDS:

• Design Environment, Eclipse IDE (WTP, Eclipse ME, WTK)
• Multi-Access support, Mobile, Fixed Broadband and WLAN.
• Multi-Device support, Mobile phones PCs and PC-based devices
• JavaEE/SIP Server support (Glassfish/SailFin and BEA WLSS)
• Mobile Device Emulators (JavaME/WTK and Symbian)
  and SonyEricsson Symbian phone extensions
• IMS Client Platform (ICP) for Open-OS devices
  (Symbian, Windows)                                            
• IMS Java Client Utility (IJCU) for non-SIP JavaME devices
  (MIDP 2.0 / CLDC 1.1), and corresponding SIP/IMS-proxy
• ICP and IJCU both provide high level IMS Core (pre-JSR281)
  and Communication Services (CoSe) client APIs (pre-JSR325)
• Standards based IMS Core Emulator (CSCF, HSS, DNS)
• Standards based IMS Communication Services APIs and Server emulators
  - Presence and Group mgt APIs and Server Emulator (PGM)
  - Push-to-Talk APIs and Server Emulator (PTT)
  - Messaging (IMS/OMA) APIs and Server Emulator (IMSM)

SDS 4.0 FD2 is freely available below for download by Ericsson Mobility World members. When downloading, an e-mail containing your SDS 4.0 license key will be sent to your e-mail address. Before downloading please make sure that the e-mail address you have registered is still correct.

If you already have an earlier version of SDS 4.0 and a valid permanent license key installed, that key will instead automatically be used with the FD2 update in the installation process

We recommend that you read the Installation Instructions before you start the installation.
