Ericsson provides the Ericsson Network Resource Gateway SDK to support Parlay/OSA application development. This SDK contains all the tools and information to develop, test and demonstrate your Parlay/OSA applications. The SDK contains the items described below.
The documentation lays the foundation for creating applications using the features of Ericsson Network Resource Gateway. It contains all the information needed to program your applications for Ericsson Network Resource Gateway. The documentation includes, for example, a User Guide, Parlay/OSA specifications and Ericsson interface specifications and Parlay/OSA compliance statements. Application developers are recommended to read the User Guide first.
The Java software libraries simplify the development of applications that use Ericsson Network Resource Gateway capabilities. One of the key features of these libraries is the abstraction from the communication protocol, CORBA. This allows application programmers to use pure Java APIs.
Ericsson Network Resource Gateway Simulator |
The Ericsson Network Resource Gateway simulator simulates the telecom network, Parlay Gateway (Ericsson Network Resource Gateway) and includes virtual phones. It is used to debug, test and demonstrate Parlay/OSA applications. The Ericsson Network Resource Gateway simulator runs on any PC or laptop with a Microsoft Windows operating system. With the Ericsson Network Resource Gateway simulator you don't need access to a telecom network for development and initial testing of your application. Also included in the simulator is the Network Resource Gateway Management Client. This client is used to manage the policy engine included in Ericsson Network Resource Gateway 4.1. Via service level agreements (SLAs) secure access to the operator's network is controlled via policies like maximum allowed throughput, authentication and authorization.
Automated Test Tool and Example Applications |
The Ericsson Network Resource Gateway Automated Test Tool is used for automatic testing of your Parlay/OSA application. It does not need any specific configuration or manual interaction in the testing process. Example applications demonstrate the use of the Java software libraries. The source code is given and can be re-used in real applications.
