The aim of this kit is to quickly get developers started with Parlay X developing using Sun's Java Web Service Developers Pack 2.0 (JWSDP). The kit is intended for both developers with little or no previous experience of Parlay X developing and developers who want to try some more advanced features of the Short Message Service (SMS), Multimedia Messages Service (MMS) and Terminal Status (TS) services.

This kit contains:

  • An example application: Basic Parlay X Application Suite
  • A user guide which is based on the example code from the Parlay X JAX-WS kit
  • Ant build-script for the example application
  • WSDL files

Both the application and the user guide cover how to send and receive SMS and MMS messages using Parlay X. This includes support for callbacks which enable the application to be notified when a message is delivered or when a new message has been sent without sending a request to the network. They also cover how to retrieve and receive Terminal Status notifications.

Code examples, information for verification of an application, trouble shooting and SOAP traces are found in the document. The full usage of all covered use cases in the document is found in the source code of the Basic Parlay X Application Suite.

The Basic Parlay X Application Suite build structure is Ant based and is therefore IDE independent.
