Leading economist and Columbia University Professor Jeffrey Sachs lends his unique insights into the challenges and possibilities of overcoming educational hurdles in global development.


Jeffrey Sachs is the Director of The Earth Institute, Quetelet Professor of Sustainability Development and Professor of Health Policy Management at Columbia University. Throughout his career, he has shown a passion for using new economic models to overcome challenges related to social development and poverty. A former director of the UN Millennium Project and Special Advisor to the UN, Professor Sachs provided invaluable guidance and global context to many of the discussions at NEST 2011.
