At NEST 2011, Professor Richard Fletcher of MIT Media Lab explored the possibilities of new user interfaces and innovative business models in the field of learning.
Professor Richard Fletcher of MIT Media Lab is a prominent researcher who heads up the Technology for Developing Countries course at MIT. A specialist in physical sensors and augmented reality, he believes that ICT-enabled learning can be much more than computers and mobile phones – it can also be incorporated into the physical world. His team at MIT Media Lab develops toys, robots and models for interpreting and applying the rich data now available for learning and training. Professor Fletcher, who has also worked for six years in projects related to healthcare and telecom, brings with him a wealth of knowledge on what makes projects successful in both the developing and industrialized worlds.
