TV Contribution and Distribution
Ericsson's TV Contribution & Distribution (C&D) systems are used by major broadcasters and service providers throughout the world. Our record of innovation in this area is second to none enabling Ericsson to lead the market with a series of world firsts including the first 4:2:2 compression solution, the worlds first IP contribution system and the first MPEG-2 DSNG solution. Through a program of continual development we have maintained our market leadership with the broadest product portfolio that boasts of many award winning products such as the RX1290, the world's first multi format professional receiver and the EN8040 Voyager the world's first MPEG-4 DSNG.
Our customer base extends throughout the world and includes the European Broadcast Union (EBU), the world's largest contribution network, for coverage of high profile sporting events. Our digital TV systems were extensively used for the delivery of both standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) sports action from the Olympic Games from Beijing and the Tour de France, Roland Garros and Wimbledon, as well as all the most prominent football events of the season to more than 650 million viewers in 56 countries in and around Europe.
