Ericsson Mobile Broadband Routers are the modern way for residential and small office users to wirelessly access high speed broadband, voice services and get their WiFi and router capabilities all from one device. Designed and tested for high performance in today’s 3G and LTE networks, Ericsson’s family of Mobile Broadband Routers provide simple and uncomplicated communication.

With integrated PBX functionality, it can support up to five local extensions (one analog and four VoIP). It has a single cellular line and supports advanced VoIP services where provided.

Family Overview

The Ericsson MBR family delivers common functionality and the following features:

  • Data Router: The MBR includes a built in IP router and firewall. It provides data capabilities such as internet access by allowing computers to be connected using Ethernet or wireless LAN (WLAN).  
  • Cellular Gateway: The MBR has an integrated cellular modem to support GSM, HSPA, CDMA or LTE cellular networks depending on the model. The wireless technologies are used for both voice and data transmission. 
  • Voice Support: The MBR supports voice services via the telephony interfaces. A broad range of network-related services such as CLI (Calling Line Identification), Call Waiting, Call Barring, Call Forwarding, and Multiparty Conference Calls are available. The external voice line features are specific to each MBR model. The external voice line features per MBR model are described below:
        o Circuit switch calls are available on the W37 and C10 model 
        o External VoIP calls are available on the W40 and L13 model
          (depending local wireless VoIP services availability).
  • Mini-PBX: The MBR supports a built-in mini-PBX that includes: up to four VoIP extensions and one FXS analog extension, call routing capabilities, hunt groups and pickup groups, and an online call data record tracker. 
  • Customizable Network Settings:  The MBR is configurable with specific wireless network requirements using the system management GUI.
