Our Service-Aware Policy Controller (SAPC) allows you to increase revenue through personalized services, while optimizing the utilization of network resources.

Product description

The SAPC is a high-capacity, telecom-grade policy server that complies with the Policy and Charging Control architecture defined by 3GPP.

It enables traffic control for a broad range of services, including IMS, contributing to an enhanced user experience and optimized utilization of network resources.

Being compliant with 3GPP standards, the SAPC is fully inter-operable with other network elements, including GGSNs, stand-alone packet inspection nodes and Application Function (AF) units.

With the SAPC you can:

  • Set policies on a per-user or per-user-group basis
  • Control access to premium content
  • Control access based on accumulated usage
  • Use quality of service control to ensure an enhanced user experience for services requiring a high or varying bandwidth
  • Optimize utilization of network resources by applying quality-of-service control

With the SAPC you can generate more revenue by:

  • Personalizing services – making services more user-friendly increases usage and builds loyalty
  • Maintaining fair-usage policies – preventing users of file-sharing services from violating terms and conditions of their subscription
  • Differentiating service offerings – introducing gold, silver and bronze subscriptions with different characteristics depending on, for example, network load or time of day

Efficient and flexible operations

Centralized policy management functions help reduce capex and opex. With the SAPC you are able to set policies on a per-user or per-user-group basis, giving them the flexibility to customize service access rules to match changing market requirements.

The SAPC is designed to work as a Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) in IMS networks and in the Evolved Packet Core (EPC) network architecture according to SAE.
