People want broadband wherever they are. What we are witnessing now is a rapidly emerging mass market that rivals the introduction of the mobile phone. What is different today is that the change is happening much faster. As high-speed Internet access via a smartphone or notebook computer becomes widely available, mobile broadband is simply the self-evident choice for more and more user groups. Consumer studies show that most people would use mobile broadband if it were available. Younger persons are naturally most interested, but the appeal of mobile broadband is nearly universal. Broadband has been the most successful service in the history of telecommunications, with an uptake even faster than mobile phones. Now that mobile broadband is becoming widely available, growth will be even faster. |
