Offering description

Ericsson’s high-density and high-efficiency power supplies for distributed power architectures are the building blocks for achieving the highest system performance.

The products are primarily designed for advanced information and communications equipment, such as radio base stations and switches/routers, but are also used in a wide range of medical, avionics, computing, military and industrial applications.

Ericsson offers more than 500 power supply products for a wide variety of applications. They can be divided into:

  • Board-mounted products, such as DC/DC converters, intermediate bus converters and point-of-load regulators
  • Embedded and stand-alone products for selected applications, such as power boards and power supply units.

All products are developed to meet customer requirements on energy efficiency and sustainability as well as quality and total cost of ownership.

Market leader

Ericsson has one of the most extensive power supply offerings on the market, with more than 500 different products for a wide variety of applications. And since 1983, more than 60 million units have been supplied to customers worldwide.

Ericsson drives its own technology development through extensive R&D, and supports industry-wide collaborations by participating and driving standardization in bodies such as the Distributed-power Open Standards Alliance (DOSA), the European Power Supply Manufacturer Association (EPSMA), the High Density Packaging User Group (HDP User Group), the Power Management Bus Implementers Forum (PMBus), the Point of Load Alliance (POLA) and the Power Sources Manufacturers Association (PSMA).

Quality assurance and reliability

The reliability and availability of all electronic equipment is underpinned by the reliability of its power supply. Ericsson Power Module products, used throughout Ericsson’s own equipment and systems, utilize the latest technology and automated manufacturing processes to provide high reliability, robustness and a level of performance that results in low total cost of ownership.

Every product design is the result of extensive research and development in power technology, broad application and system knowledge with a focus on design for environment and design for manufacturing, as well as efficient logistics and global support.

Design for Environment (DfE)

Since year 2000 Ericsson Power Modules has applied a design for environment (DfE) policy in all product development projects, including removal of hazardous substances according to the RoHS directive and a continuous development of designs and solutions for lower power consumption and lowest possible total cost of ownership for the end-user.  Read more
