From its first foray in Africa as the provider of fixed-line infrastructure in the 1890s at the Cape, to being the pioneer of the world's first handsfree speaker phones in the 1960s and inventor of bluetooth technology in the 1990’s, the question of everyone’s lips is: what is next for Ericsson?
As a leading telecommunications equipment manufacturer, Ericsson continuously strives to help improve lives and empower people, business and society, be it providing smart grids that helps cities use energy more efficiently, to informing farmers about the most competitive markets for their produce and alerting fishermen about sudden changes in weather patterns.
While our focus as a business is on technology, we are constantly striving to highlight the power of technology to change lives.
As multiple devices, people and machines becoming connected, Ericsson will be the catalyst that drives this Networked Society and provide seamless connectivity.
As the prime drive of this new digital economy, Ericsson will be embarking on an exciting roadshow kicking off in March to share its vision of a Networked Society with stakeholders in six countries in sub-Saharan Africa under the theme: “How do we create a Networked Society in RSSA”.
The objective of this campaign is to share with the region Ericsson’s vision of a Networked Society, its applicability and relevance to the region.
