Ericsson supplies full commercial EDGE system for MobilCom in Jordan

Under the agreement, Ericsson will provide MobilCom with a complete EDGE network infrastructure with implementation services, a radio and core network upgrade. This order will further strengthen Ericsson's position in the GSM infrastructure market in Jordan.
"By launching this technology, we are adding value to MobileCom's current services," said Mikael Ghossein, CEO of MobilCom. "With EDGE, we can add extra capacity to data communications, allowing our subscribers to continually enjoy the best network quality currently available in Jordan by belonging to one of the most advanced mobile service providers in the region. This is just one of the many new services we have in store for our subscribers. We are constantly on the move to bring the best to our market."

As a first phase the service was launched in the beginning of July in selected areas in the capital of Amman. MobileCom customers from the corporate sector to the youth can enjoy the benefits of this new service.
