Free Laptop Email Hoax

Ericsson has been made aware of an online email campaign claiming that Ericsson will give away a free laptop computer to users who forward the promotional information. The same campaign includes a photograph of a Sony Ericsson logo and mentions an Ericsson contact name and email number.

At a mobile money conference held recently in Johannesburg, Rajiv Bhatia, Ericsson head of mobile commerce sales EMEA, stated that airtime could be used as an incentive to drive the uptake and usage of mobile money services in countries where its growth has been sluggish.
