「エリクソン・テレコミュニケーション・アワード2011」 「エリクソン・ヤング・サイエンティスト・アワード2011」受賞者を決定

  • テレコミュニケーション・アワード受賞者は、スウェーデンのエリクソン本社 R&D 部門への視察旅行へ招待されます（2名様）
  • アワードの授賞式*　は11月 29日(火)16:00-19:00より、スウェーデン大使館（東京都港区）にて行われます

エリクソン・ジャパン株式会社（本社　東京都港区 代表取締役社長 フレドリック・アラタロ　以下エリクソン・ジャパン）は、エリクソン・ジャパンが主催する2011年度の「エリクソン・テレコミュニケーション・アワード」および「エリクソン・ヤング・サイエンティスト・アワード 」の受賞者を発表します。

2011年度は、末松 安晴　氏（公益財団法人高柳記念電子科学技術振興財団 理事長）を委員長とする審査委員会の厳正な審査の結果、以下の5名の方々が選出されました。（50音順　役職は2011年10月現在のものです。）

１．「エリクソン・テレコミュニケーション・アワード2011」　受賞者 1名

（表彰状、研究奨励金300万円、および副賞としてスウェーデンにあるエリクソン本社R&D部門訪問ツアーが贈呈されます。）

菊池　和朗 氏 （キクチ　カズロウ / 東京大学大学院　工学系研究科電気系工学専攻　教授）

受賞研究分野：　ディジタル・コヒーレント光ファイバー通信に関する研究

２．「エリクソン・ヤング・サイエンティスト・アワード2011」　受賞者 4名

（表彰状、奨励金50万円が贈呈されます。）

杉浦　慎哉 氏 （スギウラ　シンヤ /株式会社豊田中央研究所　アソシエイトリサーチャー）

受賞研究分野：デジタル移動通信システムの信号処理に関する研究

Laakso Ilkka氏　（ラークソ　イルッカ / 名古屋工業大学　研究員 兼 Research Fellow of Academy of Finland ）

受賞研究分野：電波の安全性、特に生体への電磁波の影響に関する研究

更田　裕司 氏 （フケタ　ヒロシ/東京大学　生産技術研究所　助教）

　

受賞研究分野：超低消費電力CMOSロジックLSI回路設計に関する研究

新津　葵一 氏 （ニイツ　キイチ/群馬大学大学院　工学研究科　電気電子工学専攻　助教）

　

受賞研究分野：無線接続型三次元集積回路設計に関する研究

テレコミュニケーション･アワードを受賞された菊池　和朗 氏は、コヒーレント光ファイバー通信の先駆的研究により、超高速ディジタル・コヒーレント通信の基礎を確立し、現在ならびに将来の高速・広帯域通信の発展に大きく寄与した実績を評価されました。ヤング・サイエンティスト・アワードでは、いずれも極めてレベルの高い研究成果の中から、そのユニークさ、国内および世界で初めての成果、且つ将来の実用性を評価された若手研究者の方々が選ばれました。

エリクソン・ジャパンは、日本における社会的貢献活動の一環として、情報通信分野の学術研究における、更なる発展、振興に寄与した研究者・技術者を表彰する「エリクソン・テレコミュニケーション・アワード」を1997年に、また若手研究者を対象とした「エリクソン・ヤング・サイエンティスト・アワード」を1998年に創設しました。エリクソン・ジャパン 代表取締役社長フレドリック・アラタロ をエリクソン・アワード理事会 会長、歴代駐日スウェーデン大使をアワード理事会副会長にお迎えし、これまで、日本のみならず世界的に情報通信分野での貢献著しい研究者・技術者の方々が受賞されています。

本アワードが時代を担う有望な研究者への励みとなり、情報通信社会のさらなる発展へ寄与することを期待しています。

2011年エリクソン・アワードの授賞式*　は11月 29日(火)16:00より、スウェーデン大使館（東京都港区）にて、現駐日スウェーデン大使ラーシュ・ヴァリエ氏ご臨席のもと開催されます。

    Announcement of This Year's Winners: "Ericsson Telecommunications Award 2011" and "Ericsson Young Scientist Award 2011"

    • In 2011, Ericsson Award honoring researchers and engineers who have most contributed to further development and promotion of academic research in the information and communications area sees its 14th year.
    • Winners of the Telecommunications Award (2 persons) are invited to an inspection tour to R&D of Ericsson Headquarters in Sweden.
    • The award ceremony* will be held from 16:00 on November 29th at the Swedish Embassy (Minato-ku, Tokyo).

    Ericsson Japan K.K. (Head Office in Minato-Ku, Tokyo, President and Representative Director, Fredrik Alatalo, hereinafter Ericsson Japan) hereby announces the winners of "Ericsson Telecommunications Award" and "Ericsson Young Scientist Award" for 2011 organized by Ericsson Japan.

    In 2011 the five people given below were selected as a result of impartial evaluation of the screening committee with Dr.Yasuharu Suematsu (Chairman, Takayanagi Foundation for Electronics Science and Technology) as a chairman.

    Grant and incentive are awarded to the winners for research activities of information and communication (I&C) technologies. In addition, the winner of the Telecommunications Award is invited to a tour to Ericsson Research in Sweden.

    Area of Award：”Research on Signal Processing in Digital Mobile Telecommunications Systems”

    Dr. Laakso Ilkka (Researcher, Nagoya Institute of Technology and Research Fellow of Academy of Finland)

    Area of Award：”Research on the Safety of Radio Waves, Particularly the Influence of Electromagnetic Waves on Living Bodies”

    Dr. Hiroshi Fuketa (Assistant Professor, Institute of Industrial Sciences, the University of Tokyo)

    Area of Award：”Research on the Design of Ultra-low Power CMOS Logic Circuits”

    Dr. Kiichi Niitsu (Assistant Professor, Department of Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Gunma University Graduate School)

    Area of Award：Research on the Design of Wireless-3D Integrated Circuits

    Dr. Kikuchi who has been selected to receive the Telecommunications Award was highly evaluated because of his significant contribution to the current and future development of high-speed wideband telecommunications, achieved by establishing the foundation of ultra-high speed digital coherent communications technology through his innovative studies in the area of coherent optical fiber communications. For the Young Scientist Award, from among the research achievements whose levels were all extremely high, the researches of young scientists with outstanding uniqueness, for being first in Japan and the world, and their future applicability were selected.

    As a part of its social contribution activities in Japan, Ericsson Japan set up "Ericsson Telecommunications Award" in 1997 to commend researchers and engineers who have contributed to further development and promotion in academic research of the ICT area, and "Ericsson Young Scientist Award" in 1998 for young researchers. Having Fredrik Alatalo, President and Representative Director of Ericsson Japan K.K. as the president of the award board, and the Ambassador of Sweden in Japan as the vice-president of the award board, a number of researchers and engineers have been awarded to the present, who made outstanding contributions to the ICT area not only in Japan but in the world.

    We expect this award will serve to encourage promising researchers bearing each era and contribute to further development of the information and communication society.

    The ceremony of 2011 Ericsson Awards will be held from 16:00 on November 29th at the Swedish Embassy (Minato-ku, Tokyo) in the presence of Mr Lars Vargö, Ambassador. * Those in the press who wish to be present in the ceremony and interview the award winners are asked to contact the person in charge of public relations.
