The 10 hot consumer trends for 2016
Ericsson ConsumerLab has identified some of the most important consumer trends for 2016 and beyond.
As technology adoption speed increases, early adopters paradoxically become less important since there is less time to influence others. Instead, we enter an all-inclusive era with social effects like crowd intelligence and the sharing economy already multiplying for more than 80 percent of consumers.
Trends include sensors inside our bodies, printing food and smartphones becoming things of the past.
The insights in the “10 Hot Consumer Trends for 2016” report come from Ericsson ConsumerLab’s global research program and cover a range of consumer opinions. The broadest trend is representative of 1.1 billion people across 24 countries, whereas the narrowest represents 46 million urban smartphone users in 10 major cities.
