Chafic Nassif

Chafic Nassif is Senior Vice President and Head of Market Area North East Asia. Prior to this position, Nassif headed Customer Unit North Latin America & Caribbean, with a responsibility spanning across 41 countries. He led the team in accelerating the deployment of world-class mobile networks and assisting in the digitalization of Mexico and Latin America.

Chafic believes that technology has the unrivalled potential to improve people's lives, businesses, and society as-a-whole. Advancements in connectivity, in particular, will enable an explosion of new services in a variety of industries, boosting job creation and significantly narrowing the digital divide. He is a strong proponent of the benefits of workplace diversity and inclusion, and he particularly supports efforts to increase the participation of women and girls in STEM.

Nassif has over a decade of executive experience with Ericsson, working in various business segments and geographies across four continents. He was president and board member of the company in Taiwan, as well as a member of the leadership team of Ericsson in North East Asia. During the same time, he was co-chair of the European Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan's telecommunications and media committee.

Prior to joining Ericsson, Chafic worked for technology startups, IT industry organizations, and consultancies. He graduated from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, with a BSc in Engineering, Computer and Communications, but also holds two Masters of Science degrees in ICT Entrepreneurship and Wireless Systems from Sweden's KTH Royal Institute of Technology. He has also studied executive management at IMD, the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore, and Boston University.
