Today, the telecom industry has never-seen-before opportunities to target the situations, needs and applications that users care most about. Guaranteeing "a camera-on video call", “a low-ping gaming session”, "an ever-connected laptop", or "flawless payments" are services that deliver concrete user value beyond the data volume.
These new value-based services are being launched in the market. By the end of 2025, more than 65 were up and running commercially, targeting different situations, needs and locations. Take a look at three different categories of value-based services below.

Target the moments when users are willing to pay for something better than best effort, with new value-based offerings. Understand what your customers care most about – and deliver a guarantee for the outcomes that really make a difference for them. It's time to focus on delivering value, by leveraging premium capabilities in your network, not competing on price.
Beyond the smartphone: Find growth in new services and sectors
A new breed of cloud and AI-powered services are emerging. These cannot work without connectivity. At the same time, the continued growth of FWA proves that mobile is ready to take on the role as primary connectivity, even in competition with fixed. Lean into this momentum, by setting a higher standard for the user experience of both new and existing devices with your value-based connectivity services. For example, you can claim your share of the 5G-connected laptop growth market. So far, very few have the added convenience – and security – of an always on mobile connection. Or look at how you can add value to the new connected devices being launched, like AI-powered glasses and pendants, or camera accessories for immediate upload to the cloud. Mobile connectivity is ready for prime time.
Create value through ecosystem collaboration
The easy-to-understand benefits of value-based offerings make them a lot easier to resell. Turn them into new wholesale offerings by making them accessible via APIs. Let ecosystem partners deliver experience guarantees and other benefits to their customers by integrating value-boosting features into their products and services. This is a great way for CSPs to build new channels for growth, broaden the usage of services, as well as building deeper relationships with partners.
