Scott Dresser is Ericsson’s Chief Legal Officer, heading up Group Function Legal Affairs and Compliance. He has held this position since March 2022. 

Prior to joining Ericsson in 2022, he was Group General Counsel for VEON, an Amsterdam based global operator listed on Nasdaq and Euronext with operations in Asia, Eastern and Western Europe and Africa. Scott was also General Counsel for Virgin Media in the UK.

Scott started his professional career in New York in private practice with law firms Lord Day & Lord and Morgan Lewis, and specializing in corporate law, governance, and M&A.

Throughout his career, Scott has also been a dedicated environmental conservationist having spent four years with Conservation International in Washington D.C. helping to set up and operate the Global Conservation Fund (GCF). The GCF was focused on establishing and supporting parks and protected areas in the world’s biodiversity hotspots and Scott played a key role in establishing major protected areas in Sumatra, Cambodia, Peru and throughout the world. He also serves on the Global Advisory Board of BirdLife (and was previously their head of strategy).  BirdLife, based in Cambridge, U.K. is a leading scientific organization focused on protecting birds and their migratory routes.

He holds a law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School.
