Antonio Fernandez Merino is the Business Development Director for Ericsson’s mission critical communications division, supporting market acceleration and transition from narrow band to 3GPP-based future-proof mission critical communications.

He comes with more than 20 years of working experience in the telecom sector, starting in Ericsson Spain in 2000 as sales support for Ericsson’s OSS and Radio Access Networks portfolio, and working for key communication service providers in Spain including Vodafone, Telefonica and Orange (Amena).

After his time in Ericsson, he worked in Rohde & Schwarz, driving communication systems for security and defense, with a focus in professional mobile radiocommunications (PMR) solutions. Antonio Fernandez Merino also spent over 13 years in Airbus Secure Land Communications, heading up sales in Spain, then as global head of business support and innovation, covering presales, business development and strategy implementation activities for mission critical and business critical market segments.

Fernandez graduated as a telecom engineer and did his postgraduate in Technologies and Systems for Security and Defense, both from Madrid Polytechnic University.
