Björn Karlberg

Björn joined Ericsson back in 2005, before there were any iPhones or smartphones. Back then the coolest thing you could do on your phone was play Snake over a Bluetooth connection. Starting from his early days at Ericsson, Björn has had a keen interest in understanding how our products and solutions add value to the customer networks. He had an opportunity to experience that when he was a part of the team that performed the first ever PING demo to Verizon when LTE was launched.

Björn holds a M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Linköping University, Sweden and has always had a strong interest in gadgets. He has held positions in product development and program management, covering three different generations of wireless technologies: 2G, 4G, and 5G. Prior to joining Product Line 5G, Björn was leading Ericsson’s IODT program and he also co-managed a special program that aimed at creating very early bi-lateral 5G specifications, ahead of 3GPP.

In his spare time, Björn enjoys spending time with family and friends.
